We all remember Paul Newman, right? He was an actor in films such as Hud, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Hustler, Cool Hand Luke, Cars, and Road to Perdition. He was also famous as a race car driver, and businessman/philanthropist. Finally, Newman was a founder of the “Newman’s Own” line of dressings and sauces, which famously donates all post-tax profit to charities.
Paul Newman’s estate has been in the news some recently due to contention between Nell Newman (Paul Newman’s daughter) and corporate figures at Newman’s Own. The twists and turns involve allegations of mental incapacity, undue influence, internal takeovers, and forcibly pushing Nell Newman out of the company.
