We get regular questions regarding disinheritance of beneficiaries. What happens when someone tries to overturn or interfere with your estate plan? An “in terrorem” or “no contest” clause usually acts as a deterrent to such beneficiaries by fully divesting them of their inheritance if they contest your wishes after your death. Please note that this method is not valid in Florida or Indiana, but is common in Texas.
